Chris Cravey’s Sewer Log pt.1

19 year old Chris Cravey shapes and glasses his own 9′6″ rounded pintail longboard for the mellow reef breaks around his home. The board is made for smooth surfing, combining features like mellow tail rocker and a rounded pin tail for longer drawn-out turns and a full nose and low nose rocker for long noserides.

how does he get that dark green band around the border? A second layer of glass?

  2. Korduroy Admin Says:

he glassed the top and bottom with a green resin tint, he messed up the deck and glassed it with white opaque. The band on the top is from the layers of tinted cloth making a darker green.

The two tone glass job is a very common design feature, usually accented with a resign pinline to help separate the colors or “make them pop”. Chris, if you want to keep doing this then you should learn what materials and chems will harm you and how, ie. wear a dust mask when cutting cloth or mowing foam.
