@mc.....unfortunately we are not professional surf wax makers so we don't have the ratios completely dialed in. from my understanding, you are going to want to increase the ratio of beeswax to coconut oil for warmer temps. less coco oil means harder wax...

Roy, have you found a way to make the wax white, without buying ultra expensive white beeswax, or non-organic bleached beeswax?

I got tired of the only surf shop in town not stocking any organic wax, and asking $8 per bar for sex wax. ($8 fucking dollars?!?! WTF?) So I decided to make organic wax and sell it at $3 per bar. (Since I buy the beeswax in bulk I can sustain that, as I get it for about $1.50 per bar. I get a dollar profit for my efforts that way.)
I have encountered a few problems though. One is the resin won't melt. How to mix it in without tons of sediment? Second, people don't like the colour... (I like yellow, it looks nicer to me, but people are full of shit.) What can I do to make the wax lighter, or even white, while still keeping it organic?

Just wondering if there are any less labor intensive, time consuming ways to achieve what the pine resin does for the wax, could this be substituted with an emulsifier like soy lecithin or agar-agar? Or a gelatin? If not, is there some kind of wholesale resource for pine sap, as I do not have any available here in Mission Beach, SD.

I've seen this video a few times when I was in Florida and never really considered making my own wax cause I'd buy em for $1.00 !
But I live in India now and I'm left with one bar or hot and half of tropical.
I've already Googled bee farmers to get 1kg of wax and will make my first batch in a coupla days !
Just outta curiosity, will a 6:1 ratio of wax and oil do for tropical waters. Also can I add food essence for color and smell ?
Thanks..
