The unlikely combination of pantyhose and surfboard foam dust make a great portable tool for removing that tough final layer of old surf wax.

Hmm, I don’t know if there’s other stuff out there that works as well as surfboard foam. I think fine sand is your best bet. Just sprinkle some of that on top and rub it in and set in the sun to soften the wax, then use a cloth to wipe it all off. You just need something for the wax to bond to.

White cooking flour works well (like the kind your mama use to make biscuits with). I’ve used handfuls of it quite a few times. It would work just as well double bagged in panty hose. Just make sure after you scrape your board you put it in the sun for just a little while to heat things up.
Great site Cy. Tons of great stuff on here. Keep it up!

Rottenstone or pumice available form your hardware store packed in and old cotton gym sock (no holes) also works quite well. Warm the board in the sun, scrape it and start polishing.
