No, it does not really matter what kind of wood. But remember, the lighter the better. Pine is always cheap and easy. And I don’t believe Ryan glassed that one himself…

@Kyle- birch marine plywood 1/4 inch is what i use. but any marine ply will work 1/2 if you’re making a longboard fin..
