A colored glass job on your surfboard looks cool, but fixing requires added colors to match your original. Instead of dropping it off at a ding repair shop, this tutorial demonstrates how to repair in your own backyard.

Nice work. Maybe on the next one you could add the step of filling the ding with some q-cell.

Alex- we’ve got a how-to repair a broken tail of a board in works where we use a lot q-cell

how do you match a tint as opposed to an opaque?

Sam, you would just add the color (go slowly! A little goes a loong way) and no white, opaques are usually color with white. So the same process as in this tutorial just no white. and if you have an opaque color you’d just add white pigment to the resin first, then add your color.

What do you guys usually do to get the resin out of your brushes?
Thanks

@Luke – Acetone works best.

is hot coat something different or is it just more catalyst in it?

@Sam- some might add more but generally a “hot coat” is 1.5x the amount of catalyst suggested for a normal mixture, so if your resin says add 10 drops add 15..
