Sam Hann

San Onofre regular Sam Hann creates an alaia which he tests out with the help of the hot local San O crew Christian Wach, Nathan Adams and JJ Wessels. Check out Sam’s use of a pipe wrapped in sandpaper for deepening the concave in the center of his board.

nice, well done. i like the “door” concept. Looks like it rides alright. i’d be nice to see it in a fast lined up wave. does pine work as well as paulownia wood?

I’ve seen Sam down at San Onofre with wooden boards of all sorts of shapes and stains. He does a really nice job of finishing them, they are polished like glass. Its rad he’s so fired up, good on you guys for giving him some love.

Not sure, Wegener seals his with a mixture of linseed oil and turpentine…
