Holly Beck began surfing at the age of 15 and never looked back. With an NSSA title under her belt and years of traveling on the WQS as one of the top surfers in the world, Holly has hung up the contest jersey for a more simple and purposeful life. Setting up shop in Central America on a remote piece of land just steps from perfect waves, she has begun to carve out her own ideal lifestyle, running surf and yoga retreats, empowering women to take a little adventure and step out of the mundane. We caught up with Holly during our recent trip to El Salvador to find out a bit more about how she decided to change her path and what she is working on creating down south.

“Boarding House” is a long, long way behind her now… And I think that’s not a bad thing

Holly seems cool and is a good surfer. But generally speaking, surfing these days could do without the words “inspired” and “inspiring.” It’s become tiresome marketing-speak.

@Jayson, being inspired or an inspiration to someone else is a good thing. How else do you improve or grow as a person? We here at Korduroy are doing our best to inspire people to think outside of the box, be creative, and have a ton of fun doing it. If you are not looking to get inspired or be an inspiring person/surfer, maybe you should look inside and figure out why that bothers you so much.

I have always admired Holly’s Soul for the sport. She has figured it out. She has shared and given back of the lifestyle. I know there will be more to come from her in the future. Aloha Jerry
