We came across this gem while wasting time on Facebook, so, not all hope is lost in the void. The good folks at Grist, an environmental news site with a snarky twist, recently posted details a solar-powered, portable outlet designed by Yanko Design.
It is a circular outlet with a fairly tiny solar grid attached to the back, where the outlet can be suction-cupped to a window. From there, it absorbs the sun’s rays, taking anywhere from five to eight hours to charge completely. The cool thing is that once it’s charged, it can store that energy for 10 hours.
Van lifers, how were you getting electricity before?
