Wanting to improve his cross-stepping, Sam made a simple training tool with a 2x4 and some extra skateboard accessories. His "Cross Step Trainer," he says was inspired by Kassia Meador, who in the film "The Walk About" explained that she used to a 2x4 while watching surf videos to improve her cross-stepping, in turn creating the smooth, effortless style she now embodies.
