Something in the Pipeline

1997, I was living in the city, the big smoke, London town. I’d got my degree from the London College of Fashion and was busy buying kitten heels and chatting up the media, doing the PR for Converse and Quiksilver. For a girl who started out life in a small village in Cornwall, I was a long way from the sea. 1997 was also the year I got a skateboard, a flat in E17 and joined Surfers Against Sewage – it was a way for me to dip my toe back in the ocean, reconnect and lend my support to a cause I felt and still do feel passionately about – keeping the oceans clean. I’m back living by the sea now and appreciate up close the tremendous job SAS do in protecting our playgrounds, so was stoked to be included as their “Meet a Member’ in Summer issue of SAS Pipeline News. Becoming a member for a year and supporting SAS and the work they do on our behalf costs less than an average night out…Here’s to a good summer of surf _DT
