Hani Surfboards

Israel is not a place that we typically think of when we think of surfing. It is more of a place where conversations of  politics and world news come up. But there is indeed a surfing culture that lives in this small Middle Eastern country dating back to the 1950s. The Mediterranean Seas serves up some waves every now and again, mostly wind swell, and there is a contingency of surfers who are there to gobble it up.

This clip follows Tel Aviv shaper, Hani Ovadia and quickly explores into his shaping room and a few of the locals that ride his boards.
