Paper Sea Quarterly is a handcrafted quarterly coffee-table book on surf, travel and art for women and men who share an affinity for the ocean.
What started as a simple recognition of the need for change turned into a one inch thick publication containing collaborations with photographers, artists and writers including Alex Laurel, Chris Burkard, Matt O’Brien and DJ Struntz.
Unable to find an alternative to mainstream surf publications, Andy Summons (editor), Tom Batrouney (photo editor) and Andrew Diprosé (designer/photographer) decided to publish a creative alternative.
Unwilling to compromise on their environmental ideals, Paper Sea Quarterly is printed on 100% post-consumer recycled art paper with vegetable inks – because nature flippin rocks.
Editor Andy Summons said, ‘We saw the need for a publication that had a tonne of heart and depth, something that wasn’t disposable.’
This is a book for people who have outgrown the grind of editorial, glossy ads every second page and competition coverage. In Issue One you will find features on a Hip Hop artist, tattooist and an interview with Wayne and Jarrah Lynch.
The entire publication is designed as a work of art and so all the pages are available for sale as fine art prints via their website.
Paper Sea Quarterly Volume One, Issue One is on sale at good newsagents around Australia. Subscriptions and single issues are available at papersea.com.au
