Raul Vega grew up around photography. His parents had a film developing business, back when that was still something people needed experts for, and their knowledge and keen eye figured into his work from the very beginning. Since his mother passed away last year, he’s fought through the urge to throw it all away, opting instead to make every photograph personal.
Raul explains: “Our generation is so focused on getting published and being well-known, but sometimes you have to take a step back and think about the simple things in life and why you began whatever it is that you do in the first place.”
About his song choice, Raul says it’s been with him for a while, and it continues to humble him every time he hears it.
