San Francisco has always been a hotbed of creative energy. Now it has a little web series to help the world get to know the artistic spirits who keep the community thriving. “Working Title” is a collaboration between KQED and Little Paper Planes, hosted by Kelly Lynn Jones of LPP and Andrew Martin Scott, co-owner of Needles and Pens. They are aiming to showcase the unconventional career paths that allow individuals to have more creative control over their lives.
In this pilot episode, Kelly and Andrew meet with Jay Nelson, an artist who seriously makes his living building tree houses. They discuss the multiple dimensions of design, the different paths that artists take, and the idea that if you work hard you will do well. We wish the series well and will keep checking in on it from time to time.
