The Save the Waves Film Festival is now accepting films through September 15, 2014:
Celebrating their sixth consecutive year, Save the Waves Film Festival will travel to three beautiful cities in November, 2014. The show will begin in San Diego, California, on November 7; then tour to Brooklyn, New York on November 14; and finish back in its original hometown of San Francisco, California, on November 21.
Unlike other film festivals, Save the Waves is a one-night fundraiser event featuring documentary surf films, ocean conservation campaigns, live music and art. The call for film entries is now open through September 15, 2014. You can submit your films here:
You’re not restricted by film genre; however, filmmakers are encouraged to explore unique and personal stories that link surfing and the environment, environmental activism, surf culture and the cultural and environmental values of waves and surfing. The festival critics embrace film submissions that explore all aspects and angles of surfing, coastal environmentalism, and cutting-edge artistry from documentary to animation to engaging, experimental and unique works of ocean-inspired art.
Filmmakers of all levels are welcome.
