RIP Aussie World Champ and Log Stylemaster, Midget Farrelly

Style is timeless. Watch the footwork and waveriding approach of today’s best, be it Corey Colapinto or Tommy Witt, and compare it to the style and performance of surfing greats like Gerry Lopez and you’ll find there’s a commonality there that transcends time.

This week the surfing world lost a legend, Midget Farrelly. Farrelly won the first official surfing world championship at Sydney’s Manly Beach in 1964, dominated the surf scene for over a decade, and was inducted Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 1985.

At 71, Farrelly left the surfing world as a true innovator, competitor and figure of longboard culture. He will be missed.
