Electric Waste Orchestra sounds like an avant gard cross between doom metal and classical-inspired indie rock but actually it’s more literal than that. An “educational side project” started by Colten Jackson in Champaign, Illinois, the group takes electronic waste — hard drives, compact discs, cords and keyboards — and turns them into real functioning musical instruments.
