If you have never heard of Teton Gravity Research, now is the time to find out about them. They have been making ski and snowboard films for since the mid-nineties and with their mission “to inspire,” they have been leading the path to new and uncharted territories on snow. In addition to their films, much like Korduroy, TGR also has a variety of shows they produce. One such show, Almost Live, gets you “an inside look at what goes into first descents, building and hitting massive backcountry jumps, traveling throughout the most exotic locales on the planet, and the lives of the worlds top riders.” After the release of Avatar (although we all know Michael Jackson’s Captain Eo at Disneyland mesmerized us first), everyone has been moving to 3D. In this episode, you’ll get an inside look at what it takes to make it happen with 3D cameras, new ways of stabilzation, and the overall challenges these new cameras bring to the table. Nonetheless, 2 RED cameras and an experienced crew make it happen!
